Nothing to collect, nothing to post. The eSIM is a profile your phone downloads, next to the SIM you already have.

  1. Pick a place and a plan

Search the country or region. Choose data by the gigabyte for a week or a month, or unlimited by the day. Pay by card.

    Takes about a minute
  2. Install while you’re still on Wi‑Fi

We email a QR code the moment payment clears. Scan it in Settings, name the line “Travel”, and leave data roaming off until you land.

Do this at home, not at the gate
  3. Land, switch data to {brand}

Turn the Jaunt line on for mobile data. Your phone picks a local network and the plan’s clock starts then, not at purchase. Calls and texts keep coming to your own number.

    Hotspot and tethering allowed

Why not just roam?

You can. Here is what each option asks of you, so the choice is yours.

Option oneYour carrier’s roaming

  • Charged per day, usually whether you open the phone or not.
  • Speed often capped once you’re outside the home region.
  • The bill arrives after the trip, with the surprise built in.
  • Nothing to set up.

Option twoA local SIM at the airport

  • Find the kiosk, queue, show a passport, often pay cash.
  • Your own SIM comes out, so your number is unreachable while it’s in a pocket.
  • Bank codes and two-factor texts stop arriving.
  • Local price, local speed.

Option threeJaunt eSIM

  • Local networks, bought from your sofa.
  • Your SIM stays in. Calls, texts and bank codes keep arriving.
  • One price for the whole trip, paid before you leave.
  • Top up from the phone if you run low.

Does your phone take an eSIM?

Most phones sold since 2019 do. The phone also has to be carrier‑unlocked, which is the usual case if you bought it outright or finished paying for it.

Short answers to what people ask most. Anything else, write to support and a person replies. Contact support

Does my phone support eSIM?
Most iPhones from the XS and XR onward, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer do. To be sure, dial *#06#: if an EID appears, it does. The phone must also be carrier-unlocked.
Do I keep my own number?
Yes. Your physical SIM stays in, so calls and texts to your number still reach you. WhatsApp follows your account, not the SIM carrying data.
When does the plan start?
When your phone first connects to a network in the destination. Installing it at home doesn’t use any days.
Can I call and text with it?
Plans are data-only. Use WhatsApp, FaceTime or any calling app. Regular calls go through your home SIM at your carrier’s rates.
What if I run out?
Buy another plan for the same country from your account. It’s added to the eSIM you already have, with no new QR code.
Can I get a refund?
If you haven’t installed the eSIM, request a full refund within 30 days of purchase. Installed plans can’t be refunded.
